Real name – Ifeanyi Chukwuebuka Ibegbunam,
Fecko is a revered and versatile
Nigerian artiste based in Lagos. His musical direction was influenced by his
environment, life and other talented artistes. He has worked with a good number
of respected names in African hip hop and has also been featured on Chuck D of
Public Enemy’s
radio show.
He has been featured on various
magazine publications, including South Africa’s HYPE and Nigeria’s
HipHop World Magazine. One of his songs ‘Real
African Poetry’ – produced by Teck-Zilla, was
once nominated as radio AFRO Australia’s
Song of the Year in 2013.
Fecko is obviously not a rookie.
He made his first mainstream appearance when he featured on the Joe Spazm
Mixtape (Hosted by DJ Jimmy Jatt). The project also featured artistes, such as
WizKid, Ice Prince, Da Grin and a host of others.
Mazi Fecko (as he is fondly called) has earned
his stripes by releasing three EPs, and has churned out several singles and
collaborations so far. Some of his singles such as “Kalabash”, “Hustle Over Feelings”, “Finally” and “Fela Must Rise” have been featured on the
popular Nigerian music chart –
Yello Top 10 Countdown.
Apart from showbiz, Fecko is a
student, writer and editor (E.C.H.O. e-Zine). He is also a graphic designer and
an aspiring actor.
