My Highlights of 2011

Here are some of the things I accomplished this year as an indie hip hop artist, which I’ll always remember…

KevinNottingham Feature
It’s nice to know that African hip hop is now grabbing global attention, be it online or offline. So it was great to see my track 'Flow Global' featured on foremost international hiphop site, Kevin Nottingham!

The RapLogic EP
I can boldly say that I challenged myself with this 9-track EP produced by Teck-Zilla. Teck and I decided to break boundaries and reach out to the wider world with nothing else but real hiphop! The RapLogic EP featured talented MCs such as Mode9(Nigeria), TALoNTED(U.S.A), The Holstar of Zone Fam(Zambia), Synik (Zimbabwe), Fikrah Teule (Kenya). It's still available for free download on various blogs/sites online such as This Is Africa, 25 to Lyf, Ameyaw Debrah, Soundcity TV , Afro MP3 etc.

Flava fm (Zambia) Interview
Zambia’s like my second home even though I’m yet to visit the country. I guess it’s because I have a lotta friends and well-wishers over there. So it was a privilege for me to be interviewed by Tha Jayman via phone on Flava FM in Kitwe, Zambia. That was actually my first international radio interview.

BANS Nominated At The Headies
Word on the street has it that ‘Boys Are Not Smiling’ by Terry Tha Rapman is among the top 3 fastest-selling rap albums in Nigeria at the moment. So I’m happy I had a spot on the album, and even happier that it got nominated at The Headies 2011. No be beans!

HYPE Magazine Props!
Since 2005 I’ve been a huge fan of HYPE (SA’s No.1 hiphop mag). Also, I’ve been patiently waiting for the time I’d get featured in any of its publication. Apparently, that dream came through in 2011 when I stumbled on my name several times while reading the Freedom Day issue. That was such a big deal for me! *summersaults twice*

Collabo With Tupengo
As an igbo boy who grew up in Lagos, I’ve always wanted to connect with the Yoruba-speaking audience through my music. I decided to hook up with Tupengo on a joint and I think we came up with something really nice. ‘Kosoun Tuntun’ is still getting mad love on the streets!

It can only get better in 2012...still putting in more work!

Wishing y'all a Happy New Year in advance

'The Moment' Newspaper Interview

I recently granted an exclusive interview to The Moment newspaper on Thursday, 15 December 2011. I shared a lot of inspiring words and gist with the journalist who did ask me some really thought-provoking questions. I'll let y'all know as soon as the publication is ready.

Photo Shoot!

I had a photo shoot session some time last month. And I just thought I'd share some of the pix with y'all. Shout out to my homie Psalmurai for the nice outdoor shots...100% street!

Radio Promo

My new track 'Kosoun Tuntun' made its debut online some months back, and I just thought it's about time I started the radio promo and all. So I've mass-produced a lot of promo CDs and I've been able to cover some radio stations in the South-West such as Cool FM, Ray Power, Radio Continental et al. More to come! And pls you can now request for my new tracks on radio.

Updates: Collab EP With Naycha

Hi fam! Just got some really dope beats from the homie Teck-Zilla for my collab EP with SA rapper Naycha. One of the beats reminds me of 'Ill Meditation' offa the RapLogic EP....it has that 80s hip hop/reggae groove. Other beats feature samples from Mariam Makeba and Nelson Mandela.

And by the way, I'm glad that HYPE Magazine mentioned the project in their latest edition. God-willing, we also hope to get a review by HYPE when the EP eventually drops in 2012. I'll keep y'all posted for sure.

Bless!
